Does my research leave the browser?
No. The builder runs entirely in your browser with plain HTML and JavaScript. Your rows are saved in this device’s localStorage and the CSV, Markdown and bookmark-file downloads are generated locally. Nothing is uploaded — you can prove it by opening your network tab or switching the tool page to offline after it loads.
Why presets instead of one generic table?
Because the jobs differ. A reporter separates a claim from its evidence and verification status; a writer separates a verbatim quote from a paraphrase and its draft use; a researcher separates a source’s findings and limitations from their own analysis; an analyst separates a competitor’s claim from what you actually observed. Same engine, different columns — swap presets any time, your rows stay in one table per preset.
How does the Marqly bookmark file work?
Every row with an http(s) URL becomes a standard Netscape bookmark (the format Chrome exports). Your source name is the title, your note is stored as the bookmark description attribute, and the timestamp is today. Upload the file at app.marqly.com under Import — your whole table lands as searchable saves with your notes attached.
Is there a row limit?
300 rows per preset, which is past what a single article, chapter or beat notebook needs — and small enough that the file stays instant. For a multi-month library, export to Marqly and keep building.
What if I close the tab?
Your work survives: rows autosave to this browser on this device. Clearing site data or using another device without Marqly will not carry them — that is exactly what the exports are for.
