Bulk URL opener: open multiple links at once
Paste a list of URLs — or any text that contains links — and open them in new tabs, in batches you control. Duplicates are removed and invalid lines skipped. Runs entirely in your browser.
Your list
Each link also opens on its own with a normal click — handy for picking a few by hand.
Skipped lines
This bulk URL opener takes a pasted list of links and opens them in new browser tabs — a batch per click, with the batch size and an optional delay set by you. It cleans the list first: duplicate URLs are removed, lines that are not web addresses are skipped and shown to you, and bare domains get https://added. There is nothing to install and no sign-up, and the list never leaves your browser.
How to open multiple URLs at once
- Paste your links into the box — one per line works best, but you can also paste a paragraph, an email, a spreadsheet column, or a chat log. Every
http://orhttps://address in the text is picked up. - Check the count under the box: how many URLs are ready, how many duplicates were removed, and how many lines were skipped. Expand Skipped lines at the bottom to see exactly which.
- Pick a batch size — how many tabs one click opens. Ten is the default; one is the most reliable if you do not want to change any browser setting.
- Click Open tabs. The button then turns into Open next 10 tabs (11–20 of 57), so you can work through a long list batch by batch. Opened links are marked in the list below, andStart over resets your place.
Why browsers block opening many tabs at once (and how this tool handles it)
Every “open all links” tool runs into the same wall, and most do not explain it. Browsers ship pop-up blockers so that a page cannot spray windows at you. The rule, asMDN’s documentation for window.open() puts it, is that pop-ups must be opened in direct response to user input, and a separate user gesture is required for each call. One click equals one new tab. The HTML standard also lets that “you just clicked” signal last only briefly — it expects the window to beat most a few seconds— which is why a tab opened after a long delay counts as a pop-up even if you started it with a click.
So with default settings, a web page can open exactly one tab per click. Browser extensions get around this because they run with extension permissions, not as a web page. A web tool has two honest options, and this one supports both:
- Allow pop-ups for this site, once. After that, the browser lets the page open as many tabs as you ask for in a single click, with or without a delay between them. In Chrome, Google’s help describes it as clicking the Pop-up blocked icon in the address bar and choosingAlways allow pop-ups and redirects for the site. You can revoke it at any time from the same site settings.
- Click once per tab. Set the batch size to 1, or simply keep clicking — the button stays focused, so pressing Enter repeatedly works too.
What the tool never does is pretend a batch opened when it did not. Each tab is checked as it opens; the moment the browser refuses one, the batch stops, the refused link is marked blocked, and the next click resumes from that exact link. You do not lose your place and you do not open anything twice.
Options explained
Tabs per click
How many links a single click tries to open, from 1 to 100. Large batches are only useful once pop-ups are allowed. Keep in mind that each tab loads a full page: twenty news sites at once can make an older laptop stall for a while, so for lists in the hundreds, work in batches and close tabs as you go.
Delay between tabs
Waits between tabs in the same batch. Useful when a site rate-limits rapid visits or your connection is slow. Because a delayed tab no longer counts as a direct response to your click, delays need pop-ups allowed for this site; without that permission, only the first tab of the batch opens.
Remove duplicate URLs
Two lines with the same address open one tab. Comparison uses the browser’s own URL parsing, soHTTPS://Example.com/a and https://example.com/a count as the same address, while different paths or query strings stay separate. If you want tracking parameters likeutm_source removed before comparing, run the list through theURL cleaner first.
Add https:// to bare domains
A line that contains only something like example.com/pricing is opened ashttps://example.com/pricing. To avoid turning ordinary words into links, this only applies when the domain is alone on its line (or starts with www.) — a sentence mentioning “Node.js” will not open a tab for it.
What counts as a valid URL
Only web addresses — http:// and https:// — are opened. Everything else is skipped and listed: mailto: and tel: links, javascript: snippets,file:// paths, and lines that contain no link at all. Surrounding punctuation is trimmed, so a link pasted from prose — (see https://example.com/post). — opens without the bracket and full stop, while brackets that belong to the address, as in many Wikipedia URLs, are kept.
Common uses
- Reviewing research sources — open every source in a reading list or spreadsheet column to check them side by side.
- Checking pages after a site change — open a set of important URLs to eyeball them after a deploy. For status codes rather than a visual check, thedead link checker tests up to 25 URLs per run and theredirect checker shows every hop.
- Working through links found on a page — pull every link out of a page with thelink extractor, filter it down, and send the result straight here.
- Restoring a session — if you exported or copied a set of tabs as text, paste them back to reopen them.
Troubleshooting
Nothing opened at all
Some privacy extensions and strict browser settings block every pop-up, including the first. Check the address bar for a blocked pop-up notice and allow this site, or use the list under the tool: each entry is a normal link that opens in a new tab on click.
Tabs opened but stayed blank
A few sites refuse to load in a tab that a script opened, or redirect to a login page. Click the address bar in the blank tab and press Enter to load it normally.
The count is lower than my number of lines
Duplicates are removed and non-web lines skipped. The line under the input box shows both numbers; expandSkipped lines to see each one. Untick Remove duplicate URLs if you really want repeats.
Privacy
The tool is a few hundred lines of JavaScript running in this tab. Your list is not uploaded, stored, or logged — you can confirm in your browser’s network inspector that pasting a list and opening tabs sends nothing to Marqly. The tabs themselves load like any link you click, so the sites you open see a normal visit.
When a list of links keeps coming back
If you paste the same set of URLs into a tool like this every week, the list wants a permanent home.Marqly is a bookmark manager that keeps links with their titles and tags, grouped into boards and searchable from the web app, the browser extension, and the iOS and Android apps. Its extension also does the reverse of this tool: a tab saver that stores every open tab at once. See how it works as a tab manager or a research organizer. Thefree plan holds up to 100 bookmarks; Pro removes the limit and adds full-text and semantic search.
Frequently asked questions
Why did only one tab open when I clicked?
Your browser’s pop-up blocker allowed the first tab and blocked the rest. Browsers require a separate click for each new window a page opens, unless you have allowed pop-ups for that site. The tool notices the block, stops the batch, and keeps your place: either allow pop-ups for www.marqly.com once (in Chrome, click the blocked pop-up icon at the right of the address bar and choose to always allow), or keep clicking the button — every click opens the next tab.
Is there a limit on how many URLs I can open?
The tool has no cap on the list, and a batch can be anything from 1 to 100 tabs. The practical limit is your computer: every tab loads a full page and uses memory, so opening a few hundred at once can freeze the browser. Batches of 10 to 20 are a sensible default for a long list.
Are my URLs sent to a server?
No. The list is parsed and the tabs are opened by your own browser, inside this page. Nothing is uploaded or logged, and there is no account. If you arrived from the link extractor, the hand-off uses your tab’s session storage, which stays on your device and clears when the tab closes.
What does the delay setting do?
It waits the chosen number of seconds between tabs inside a batch, so sites that throttle rapid requests, or a slow connection, are not hit with everything at once. Delays only work once pop-ups are allowed for this site: a browser treats a tab opened seconds after your click as a pop-up, not as a response to the click.
Which lines get skipped?
Anything that is not an http or https web address. Lines without a link, email addresses, javascript: snippets, file paths, and app links such as mailto: or tel: are skipped and listed so you can see exactly what was left out. A bare domain on its own line, like example.com/page, is accepted and opened with https:// in front unless you switch that option off.
Can I open the links in a new window instead of tabs?
Where each new page appears is decided by your browser settings, not by the page that opens it — most browsers put them in new tabs of the current window. If you want them in a separate window, open a fresh browser window, load this tool there, and run the list from it.
