Privacy Policy
Last updated: June 10, 2026
Marqly ("we," "us," or "our") provides an AI-powered bookmark manager through the website www.marqly.com, the web application at app.marqly.com, browser extensions (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, and Safari), and the Marqly iOS app (together, the "Services"). This Privacy Policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have.
1. Information We Collect
Account information
When you create an account — including by signing in with Google or Apple — we collect your email address, name, and profile picture (if available). If you sign in with Apple, you may choose to hide your email address; we receive only the private relay address Apple provides.
Content you save
The core of Marqly is the content you save: bookmarks and their URLs, page titles and metadata, tags, collections, notes, and highlights ("Your Content"). We store this so we can sync it across your devices and make it searchable.
Payment information
Purchases on the web are processed by Stripe; purchases in the iOS app are processed by Apple. We receive transaction details such as your plan, purchase date, and subscription status — we never receive or store your full card number. Stripe's and Apple's own privacy policies apply to the payment itself.
Usage and device information
We collect basic usage data (such as feature usage, app version, device/browser type, and crash reports) and use analytics services (such as Google Analytics on our website) to understand how the Services are used and to improve them. This data is used in aggregate wherever possible.
2. How We Use Your Information
- To provide the Services: account creation, authentication, syncing and displaying Your Content across devices.
- To power AI features: automatically tagging, categorizing, summarizing, and making Your Content searchable.
- To process subscriptions and manage billing.
- To improve the Services, fix bugs, and develop new features.
- To communicate with you about your account, support requests, and important changes to the Services.
- To protect the Services against fraud, abuse, and security threats, and to comply with legal obligations.
3. AI Processing of Your Content
Marqly's AI features (such as smart tagging and summaries) may process the pages you save and Your Content using our own systems and vetted third-party AI service providers acting on our behalf. This processing is performed solely to provide these features to you. We do not sell Your Content, and we do not use it to build advertising profiles.
4. Google User Data
If you sign in with Google or grant our extension access to Google services, our use of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including its Limited Use requirements. We use Google user data only to provide the features you request — never for advertising, and we do not sell it or transfer it to third parties except as necessary to provide the Services, to comply with law, or as part of a merger or acquisition with prior notice to you.
5. How We Share Information
We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with:
- Service providers that help us run the Services — such as cloud hosting, payment processing (Stripe, Apple), analytics, and AI processing — under agreements that limit their use of your data to providing services to us.
- Legal authorities, when required by law or to protect the rights, safety, or property of Marqly or others.
- A successor entity, if Marqly is involved in a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets — we will notify you before your data becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
6. Data Retention & Deleting Your Account
We keep your information for as long as your account is active or as needed to provide the Services. You can delete individual bookmarks and content at any time. You can delete your entire account — including from within the iOS app — or by emailing support@marqly.com. When your account is deleted, we delete your personal information and Your Content within a reasonable period, except where retention is required by law (for example, billing records) or held briefly in routine backups.
7. Your Rights
Depending on where you live (including under the GDPR and the CCPA/CPRA), you may have the right to access, correct, export, delete, or restrict the processing of your personal information, and the right to object to processing or withdraw consent. To exercise any of these rights, contact us at support@marqly.com. We will respond within the timeframe required by applicable law. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
8. Security
We use industry-standard safeguards to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and secure cloud infrastructure. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security — please use a strong, unique password for your account.
9. International Transfers
Your information may be processed in countries other than your own, including the United States. Where required, we rely on appropriate safeguards (such as standard contractual clauses) for these transfers.
10. Children's Privacy
The Services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has provided us personal information, contact us at support@marqly.com and we will delete it.
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post any changes on this page with a new "Last updated" date and, for material changes, notify you in the product or by email.
