What's the difference between Marqly Free and Pro?

Marqly Free is the manual bookmark manager: save links from your browser, file them into boards, highlight what matters, and search by keyword. It covers your whole library, up to 2,000 bookmarks. Every AI feature is Pro — auto-tagging and summaries on every save, semantic search across your whole library, Ask (the assistant that answers from your saves, finds problems and tidies with your approval), your library inside Claude, ChatGPT and Cursor over MCP, and chat with YouTube videos through their transcripts. Pro costs $72 per year or $9 per month, with a 7-day free trial, and the trial is the way to try the AI on your own library.

What Free includes

The free tier is the everyday save-and-file loop:

• One-click saving from Chrome, Edge, Firefox and Safari, plus the web and iOS apps.
• Highlights, boards and sharing — the whole organising and publishing side.
• Keyword search across the bookmarks you can access.

No card is required to sign up at app.marqly.com, and the plan doesn’t expire.

The two free-tier limits, stated plainly

• You can open and search every bookmark you save, up to 2,000 of them. Nothing you save is hidden from you on Free.
• You can store up to 2,000 bookmarks. Beyond that, saving stops until you upgrade.

These are the limits, and they are the reason Pro exists. We would rather you read them here plainly before you start.

What Pro unlocks

• Unlimited access to everything you’ve ever saved, and unlimited saving.
• Semantic search — describe what you remember (“that article comparing note apps”) instead of guessing the exact title. This searches by meaning across titles, page content, highlights and video transcripts, and it is a Pro feature, not a free one.
• Ask, the AI assistant — a panel beside your library that answers from what you’ve saved with a numbered source under every claim, spots dead links and duplicates, and tags, moves or tidies bookmarks as changes you approve (undo for 30 days).
• Connected apps (MCP) — use your library from Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor or VS Code. Each app is read-only until you allow it to change things, and you can revoke it any time.
• AI Organizer — a proposed board structure for a whole messy library, applied only when you approve it.
• Chat with YouTube videos — on any watch page, ask questions answered from the video’s transcript instead of scrubbing through it.
• Broken-link checking across your library.

Which one do you need?

If you mostly want somewhere reliable to put things and keyword search is enough to get them back, Free covers it. Pro is for when finding becomes the hard part — when your library is large enough that you remember a page by what it was about rather than what it was called, and you want to search by meaning, ask questions of your own saves, and have tagging and summaries done for you.
