What happens when my Marqly trial ends?

When the 7-day Pro trial ends you drop to the free tier — your saves, tags, and library stay intact. Nothing is deleted; only the Pro chat features pause.

When your 7-day Pro trial ends and you haven’t subscribed, your account moves to the free tier. Nothing is deleted — every save, tag, and highlight stays in your library exactly as you left it. What changes is access to the Pro features: chat with your saves and chat with YouTube videos pause until you subscribe. The core save, auto-tag, and search experience keeps working.

What you keep on the free tier

The free tier is the foundation of the product, not a locked-out shell. After the trial you can still:

  • Save links from your browser with one click
  • Get AI auto-tagging on every new save
  • Find anything with semantic search — by meaning, not just keywords

Everything you saved during the trial remains searchable. See is Marqly free for the full picture of the free plan.

What pauses

The two Pro capabilities stop: asking questions answered from your saved content, and chatting with YouTube videos via their transcripts. The free vs Pro breakdown covers exactly where the line sits. If you subscribe later, those features pick up against your existing library — you don’t start over.

If you decide Pro is worth it

Subscribe from your account at app.marqly.com. Annual billing at $48/yr is about half the cost of paying $8 monthly, and the homepage pricing section always has current numbers.

No dark patterns

Signing up for the free tier requires no card at all, so there’s no silent auto-charge trap waiting for people who only wanted to look around. And to be explicit about the thing people worry about most: an expired trial never deletes your data. The same is true if you subscribe and later cancel — covered in what happens to my bookmarks if I cancel.
