Does Marqly sell my data?
No. Marqly doesn't sell your data. Revenue comes from Pro subscriptions, not ads or data brokers — your saves aren't the product. See the privacy policy.
No. Marqly does not sell your data — not your bookmarks, not your highlights, not your reading habits. The business model makes this simple to verify: revenue comes from Pro subscriptions at $48/yr or $8/mo, not from advertising or data brokers. When users pay for the product directly, there’s no economic reason to monetize their data on the side. The privacy policy is the binding version of this commitment.
Follow the money
The pattern with “free” tools is old and well-documented: if the product costs nothing and there’s no paid tier funding it, your attention and data usually are the product. Marqly’s free tier is funded the boring way — by paying Pro subscribers who want chat with their saves and YouTube video chat. That’s the entire revenue model. There are no ads in the product, so there’s no ad-targeting machinery that would even want your browsing profile.
Why this matters for a bookmark manager
A bookmark manager sees an unusually honest picture of you: what you research, what you read, what you’re curious about at 1 a.m. That’s exactly the kind of data ad networks pay for, which is why the funding model of the tool you pick matters more here than for, say, a calculator app. Choosing a subscription-funded tool is the structural fix, not a promise you have to take on faith.
