Pricing & billing
Does Marqly have a student discount?
Yes — verified students get Marqly Pro for $48 for their first year instead of $72. Verify a university email address in checkout to get a one-time code.
Yes. Verified students pay $48 for their first year of Marqly Pro instead of $72 — a saving of $24. After that first year it renews at the standard annual price, and you can re-verify if you’re still studying.
How to get it
- Go to checkout and choose the yearly plan.
- In the Student discount panel, enter your university email address. It can be different from the email on your Marqly account — most people sign up with a personal address.
- We email a 6-digit code to that address. Enter it, and your discount is applied automatically.
The code is single-use and tied to your account, and each university email can only be used once.
If your university email isn’t recognised
We recognise addresses ending in .edu, plus academic domains under country codes such as ac.uk, edu.au and ac.jp. Plenty of real universities — especially in Europe — use ordinary-looking domains that no automatic check can spot.
If yours isn’t recognised, email support@marqly.com with proof of enrolment and we’ll sort it out manually. You are not excluded; the automatic check just can’t confirm every institution.
Worth knowing before you use it
- The discount applies to the yearly plan only.
- Using a discount code starts your subscription immediately, without the free trial. If you’d rather try Pro first, start the trial and upgrade afterwards.
- It covers your first year. Renewal is at the standard price unless you re-verify.
The other ways to pay less
- The free tier. Save, auto-tag and search with no card and no time limit. For a student collecting research links and lecture resources, it may be all you need — see is Marqly free.
- Annual billing. $72/yr versus $108/yr paid monthly — the built-in ~33% saving covered in coupons and discounts.
Why $6/month is already student-friendly
At the annual rate, Marqly costs about the same per month as a coffee — and with the student discount, less. The features that matter for studying — AI summaries to triage a reading list, semantic search to find “that paper about spaced repetition” without remembering the title, and chatting with long lecture videos on YouTube — are the kind of thing that saves hours during exam season.
