Does Marqly work on Firefox?

Yes. Firefox supports Marqly's core saving, New Tab, highlights, AI chat capture, YouTube AI, tab sessions, imports, and print-to-PDF tools.

Yes. Marqly ships a native Firefox add-on, distributed through Mozilla’s official add-ons site. Install it from the Marqly page on addons.mozilla.org, sign in to your Marqly account, and you get the same core workflow as on any other browser: save a page in one click, let AI tag it automatically, and find it later by describing what you remember.

Installing on Firefox

  1. Open the Marqly add-on page on addons.mozilla.org.
  2. Click Add to Firefox and confirm the permission prompt.
  3. Pin the Marqly icon to your toolbar so saving stays one click away.
  4. Sign in or create a free account at app.marqly.com — no credit card required.

Because the add-on comes from Mozilla’s own store, it updates automatically like any other Firefox extension.

What works in Firefox

Firefox supports Marqly’s core saving and search workflow, Marqly Home on the New Tab page, webpage highlights and notes, ChatGPT/Claude/Gemini conversation capture, YouTube AI, tab sessions, bookmark imports, and the browser’s print-to-PDF flow. Firefox uses the extension interface instead of the Chrome side-panel API, and Clipboard History is not currently available.

Firefox is a first-class citizen

Some bookmark tools treat non-Chrome browsers as an afterthought. Marqly supports four browsers — Chrome, Edge, Firefox, and Safari — plus the web app and an iOS app, and they all feed the same account. Save an article in Firefox on your laptop, and it’s already searchable in the web app and on your iPhone. No export/import dance between browsers, ever.

That also means you’re not locked in to Firefox any more than you’re locked in to Chrome. Switch browsers next year and your Marqly library comes with you — it lives in your account, not in the browser profile.

Bringing your Firefox bookmarks with you

Firefox exports bookmarks as a standard HTML file (the same format Chrome, Edge, and Safari use), and Marqly imports that format directly. Export from Firefox’s bookmark manager, import the file into Marqly, and AI auto-tags the entire backlog — years of unfiled bookmarks become a searchable library in one pass.
